Jerry Sirota
Jerry Sirota, our founder, returned home from World War II and went straight to work in his father’s auto repair business. After several years, Jerry’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to venture out on his own and establish a daily rental business, which eventually grew to five locations. In 1958, Jerry closed the daily rental operation and leased his first vehicle to a customer in New York who he had never met in person. This type of transaction was unheard of at the time, Jerry was truly a pioneer in the vehicle leasing industry. There were many skeptics of this new leasing venture (including Jerry’s father!), but word of mouth spread from one happy client to another and the business began to grow. In 1972, Hurricane Agnes devastated northeast Pennsylvania, washing away both Eastern Auto Leasing’s office as well as Jerry’s family home. Jerry was forced to start over, and with the same successful recipe of hard work, integrity, and tremendous determination, he overcame immense adversity to not only recover but prosper. Jerry continued leading Eastern Auto Leasing until his untimely passing in 2006.
